Dupont Fabros Technology (DFT) an owner-operator of large-scale multi-tenant wholesale data centers, said Friday that seven of its data centers have passed the industry-standard Statement of Standards for Attestation Engagement No. 16, or SSAE 16 attestation, and have received an unqualified Service Organization Controls 1 report.
Dupont said the seven data centers are in Virginia, California and Illinois. These reports were prepared by one of the top four independent auditing firms.
Dupont said an SSAE 16 is an attestation standard put forth by the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for reporting on controls at organizations that provide services to user entities, which provides an acceptable method for those user entities to obtain assertions about a service organization’s internal controls without conducting their own, separate assessments.
